Bennett Simon test

Two psychologists, Alfred Bennett and Theodore Simon developed the first intelligence scale, and its objective was to help teachers determine the level of intelligence of children, with the aim of looking for any academic problems they might have, so each one built his test on Practical Knowledge, Thinking Skill, and Memory The basic assumption was that all children go through the same course of intellectual development, but that happens at varying rates, and so on, giving children a commensurate mental age with his ability to perform tasks appropriate to that. For example, a child is seen A seven-year-old boy who successfully solves problems directed at 10-year-olds is considered to have a mental age of 10 and, through this test, A child with a mental age greater than his mental age is considered to be more intelligent.

Wechler scale for children's intelligence

The Wechsler scale is used to measure the intelligence of children in 6-year-olds, and a preschool scale is available for children 4 to 6½ years, and this scale is based on two types of tests, as follows :

  • Verbal tests: they measure reasoning ability, memory, general knowledge, and language skills.
  • Performance tests: which measure sequencing in problem solving and spatial skills.

The results of these tests show listening comprehension, perceptual thinking, working memory, and processing speed. The test takes approximately 90 minutes to complete and can be done on paper or on a computer.

Kaufman test

The Kaufman test is designed to avoid cultural biases and is often used to measure intelligence in children ages 3-18 who are verbally inactive, have learning difficulties, or are unfamiliar with the prevailing culture. The test consists of 16 subtests for age groups. Youth Groups undergo seven tests and four scales are used to measure sequencing, timing, mental abilities, and performance. The duration of the test varies between 25 minutes and can reach 70 minutes.

Try different skills

This test focuses on cognitive abilities to examine intelligence, measuring many abilities in various fields, such as inductive ability, verbal ability, and spatial relationships in children, and it is possible to apply this test to children between the ages of two to seventeen years.
